Court Upholds Restraining Order on Texas Mask Mandate Ban

The Texas Supreme Court declined to block the restraining orders against Governor Greg Abbott. Greg Abbott’s mask mandate ban.

The justices remanded Attorney general Ken Paxton’s appeal before the 3rd Texas Court of Appeal, Austin, for a hearing. The court did not issue an opinion on Thursday.

This move is made on the same day that the Texas Education Agency has dropped enforcement of Abbott’s mask mandate ban in Texas’ public schools.

The TEA issued a public health guidance note Thursday stating that enforcement is being dropped due to ongoing court challenges.
