Authorities say a bulldozer crushed a Florida man to death while he was using a porta-potty.
Aaron Henderson, 43, was killed as a traffic controller at the North Central Landfill in Polk County on Friday afternoon, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Employees were putting away equipment and preparing to shut down the site for the day when the unusual tragedy occurred.
At the moment, the bulldozer operator was driving up an embankment, but his view was partially obscured by the machinery’s high blade.
When the bulldozer driver reached level ground and turned the machine, he heard a loud crunch and realized he had driven over the porta-potty.
Aaron Henderson works as a traffic controller at the landfill.
The bulldozer driver was driving up a slope with the bucket blocking his view when he plowed into the porta-potty.
Inside the smashed porta-potty, Aaron Henderson was discovered unresponsive.
At the scene, the person was pronounced dead.
Henderson worked as a designated spotter at the landfill, which meant he was in charge of directing the flow of dump trucks in and out.
The incident was reported by authorities as a sad industrial accident.
