Ukrainian Lawmaker Shows Letter From Biden Full Of Broken Promises

A former member of Ukraine’s parliament wrote a heartfelt letter to President Joe Biden, criticizing Western politicians for failing to protect Ukraine against Russian aggression.

Hanna Hopko urged the administration to implement a no-fly zone over Ukraine, and she shared a letter she got from then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2015.

Biden committed in the letter to aid Ukraine with military and loan support, as well as to maintain sanctions until Russia relinquishes Crimea, all of which he kept.

Hopko, on the other hand, made it clear in her appeal to the American people that she believes Western leaders have betrayed Ukraine.

Hopko attacked Western inaction, echoing President Volodymyr Zelensky, and claimed the West’s unwillingness to enforce a no-fly zone, which would provoke conflict with Russia, is emboldening Vladimir Putin.

Putin correctly read the lack of Western determination as weakness, she argued, which emboldened him to escalate his aggression.

Hopko begged with Biden, who was instrumental in the Westernization of Ukraine, to save the new Ukraine that he helped create.

Biden has transferred $1 billion in military aid to Ukraine as president, and Congress agreed to another $13.6 billion in humanitarian and defense funding on Wednesday. For the sake of Ukraine, Biden also promises to inflict misery on Americans at the gas pump by imposing an embargo on Russian oil imports.

However, it’s reasonable that the Ukrainians feel duped. Corrupt oligarchs like Biden used Ukraine as though it were their playground, while also promising Ukraine membership in NATO. Western authorities are allowing Ukraine to be destroyed now that it is under attack. It’s a disgrace.

At the same time, the West cannot afford to risk provoking a nuclear war with Russia. Perhaps the more important lesson here is that the United States should not make commitments to other countries that it will not be able to meet.
