Another Dem Rep Gets Escorted by Capitol Police In Handcuffs

Georgia Democrat Rep. Hank Johnson was arrested by Capitol police.

Capitol police detained the 66-year old Georgia congressman and other protestors, who shouted “Whose street?” Our street. Whose house?” Our house.”

A video circulating social media shows Johnson in handcuffs being escorted by police.

Johnson, who is 66 years old, wrote online, “I was getting in #goodtrouble.”

Police confirmed that they arrested 10 individuals for “unlawfully demonstrating outside of the Hart Senate Office Building.”

All individuals were charged with “Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding.”

Johnson’s office stated that Johnson was arrested along with a group of Black male voting rights activists who were protesting against Senate inaction regarding voting rights legislation and filibuster Reform.

“In the spirit of my dear friend and mentor – the late Congressman John Lewis – I was getting in #goodtrouble,” Johnson said.
