Arizona Democrats Blasted for Promoting This One Event

After receiving criticism for the action, Democrats in Pima County, Arizona, removed a social media post promoting an event dubbed “Fuck the Fourth.”

The Pima County Democratic Party promoted the event that will be held by the Tucson Women’s March.

Republican congressional candidate Juan Ciscomani tweeted a screenshot of the party’s tweet with the caption, “This is who is supporting our opponents.”

“These are the crowds they run in. This is what we are up against. I love this country and this is why we need to win in November,” he concluded.

Later, the Pima County Democratic Party called the action a mistake but continued to back the event.

PCDP posted a graphic advertising a women’s march which, we agree, was in poor taste. “We were eager to share the event, and in our haste we used the graphic provided by the event organizer. That was a mistake, and we will do better,” the Pima County Democratic Party said in a tweet and continued, “Make no mistake, however. We support the event which will be on July 4 at 7 pm at Reid Park. The event was organized to help women in our community grieve for the loss of their bodily autonomy, which we consider an elemental right.”

The visual offended some individuals, but, they said, the fury should be kept for the women in this state who will perish from failed abortions.

The group seemed to be alluding to the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which decided in the Dobbs case that the Constitution did not grant a right to abortion and sent the matter back to the states.
