China’s Farmland Buying Spree Exposed As Economic Warfare

It makes sense for a country to forbid its biggest adversary from occupying its fertile land, which may limit your capacity to produce food for your own use or prevent you from exporting food to that country as a bargaining chip.

For instance, during the Cold War, America periodically supplied food to the Soviet Union, but it never permitted the Soviets to acquire large tracts of US farmland and produce grain there for its own use.

Although the elites back then weren’t the best, they were undoubtedly smarter than the group of indifferent and vapid “leaders” who are currently in charge of the Republican and Democratic Parties. These “leaders” acted in an irrational way and allowed Red China, a potential threat greater than the Soviet Union and the United States’ current adversary, to acquire vast tracts of arable land in the country.

Luckily, a few conservatives are now bringing this matter to light and denouncing it as a dangerous Chinese conspiracy that undermines America’s interests and weakens her position.

For instance, Newt Gingrich did that when he spoke on Sean Hannity’s show. He discussed the risk presented by the Chinese’s farmland acquisition binge and what they are up to.

“Look we clearly have a very sophisticated Chinese economic warfare in which they are buying up access to be able to surround American military facilities in a way which in a war could become just devastating. It’s very clear and this is across the board. Chinese corporations are allowed to break the rules Americans have to follow.”

In a conversation with Laura Ingraham, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis also addressed the problem of China acquiring US farms, saying:

“I don’t think they should be able to do it. I think the problem is these companies have ties to the CCP, and it’s not always apparent on the face of whatever a company is doing — but I think it’s a huge problem.”
