One mile from the United States, Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Building, shoplifters were captured on tape brazenly stealing a grocery store.
At least three persons are seen in the video stealing as much laundry detergent as they can carry, filling garbage bags and a shopping cart, and then heading farther into the Giant Food supermarket store on H Street NE.
According to a witness, the terrifying incident occurred at one in the afternoon.
Another person in the video, who appears to be a shopper unrelated to the crime, is seen casually going by the suspected criminals.
According to a witness to the crime, the store’s security guard just stood, watched and made no attempt to stop the burglars.
Giant Grocery replied to the heist footage on Twitter, stating it is looking into it. It is unknown whether the crooks have been apprehended.
A nail salon less than four miles from the Giant Food store was also robbed last week.
A robbery (force and violence) incident happened on Thursday, June 2, 2022, in the 3900 block of Minnesota Avenue, Northeast, and MPD is looking for suspects.
