Authorities say a Florida man was pulled over for speeding during a traffic stop last week and attempted to blame Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to bodycam footage provided by the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday, the unidentified driver was pulled over by a Flagler County deputy in Palm Coast last Thursday for allegedly disobeying a stop sign and going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The man provided the deputy a variety of excuses for why he was spending, including that he had just gotten the car and was attempting to get it out of sport mode, according to the tape. The man also said that he observed another automobile approaching and was attempting to go out ahead of them.

According to Miami’s WPLG-TV, the motorist received a ticket for speeding and another for running a stop sign.

Putin ordered the Russian defense minister and the chief of the military’s General Staff to place the nuclear deterrent forces on a special combat duty regime a few days after the traffic stop, fueling fears that the invasion of Ukraine could lead to nuclear war.

Provocative nuclear hyperbole is the height of irresponsibility, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who was asked if he felt Russian President Vladimir Putin was bluffing as the threat level was raised.

It’s perilous. It increases the chances of making a mistake. It should be avoided, according to Blinken. We’ve considered President Putin’s directive and words, and we see no reason to change our minds at this time.
