Dennis Rodman, a former NBA player, claims he will travel to Russia this week to press for Brittney Griner’s release. who was found guilty of smuggling and possessing drugs.
Griner was given a nine-year sentence because the Biden administration was unable to secure her release.
As he travels to Russia to negotiate a contract, Rodman thinks he can have a say by conversing with autocrats.
Vladimir Putin, according to Rodman, is someone he knows far too well.

Although Rodman doesn’t technically require permission from the US to enter Russia, he has requested authorization because the State Department has issued a travel advisory for Americans telling them not to come to Russia.
Moscow will have to issue him a visa, but he doesn’t appear concerned about it.
It won’t be the first time that Rodman interacts with a foreign leader who has a strained and unfavorable view of the United States if he visits Russia and chats with senior officials there.
Rodman has a close friendship with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and has visited the country numerous times. Even the 2018 summit between Kim and the late President Donald Trump took place with him there.

A Russian court found Griner guilty of narcotics charges earlier this month. She received her nine-year Russian jail sentence shortly after being found guilty.
On February 17, 2022, the WNBA star was detained on narcotics accusations after the Federal Security Service alleged that she was in possession of vape cartridges containing hash oil, a substance that is prohibited in Russia.
