After reporting a lady crying from an abandoned home, a Chicago guy is being hailed as a hero.
On May 21, Antoine Dobine was out strolling in the Pullman area of Chicago’s South Side when he heard an ominous noise.
“As I get closer, I heard ‘Help!’ I said, ‘Hey, who is that?’ Bam! Bam! Bam! ‘Help!’ That’s when I called the police,” Dobine recounted.
Dobine contacted the cops, who came to the home and busted it down.
A 36-year-old lady was found bound in an upstairs bedroom, telling police she had been kidnapped and raped.
According to a story from WFLD-TV, she had been shackled and handcuffed for 4 to 5 days.
The woman admitted to knowing her kidnapper previously.
The home where the lady was discovered had been abandoned for almost 30 years, according to neighbors. The victim was treated and released from a local hospital. A neighbor said she knew the woman and had attempted to assist her.
Patricia Parnell told WLS-TV, “I feed her and when I see her I give her food and water and stuff, talk to her,” “She is a sweet young lady, she is just down on her bad luck right now.”
Superintendent David Brown of the Chicago Police Department said the incident was a top priority, but that officers were still trying to gain a fuller description of a suspect from the victim.
“Now I fear for every woman in that community, because he’s still at large,” Dobine said of the suspected assailant, who is still on the loose.
