According to a polling aggregate provided by the website Five Thirty Eight, Republicans presently have a 2.1 percent lead over Democrats in terms of who Americans want to dominate Congress.
But that isn’t the only negative news for Democrats to deal with. According to a new survey, the GOP is also smashing the opposition in terms of fundraising.
According to the website, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy received roughly $13.2 million in campaign contributions from the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in 2021.
As a result, he was named the top congressional fundraiser for the year. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, on the other hand, came in second place with $12.3 million raised within the same time period, according to FEC documents.
McCarthy wasn’t the only Republican to make significant financial gains; Minority Whip Steve Scalise amassed a windfall of about $10.2 million.
McCarthy managed to raise $72.4 million for the House GOP in 2021 last month.
McCarthy went on to say that the party has a five-step plan for securing the border, as well as a five-step plan for dealing with China to figure out where COVID came from and release all intelligence.
“We’ll make your streets secure because we don’t defund the police,” he said, “we fund the police, and we’ll put an end to everyone being released on bond.”
