Hundreds Of Illegal Migrants Seen Wandering On Side Of Road

In Eagle Pass, Texas, a small hamlet just east of the Rio Grande on the Mexican border, hundreds of migrants were spotted walking the side of a highway on Thursday, according to footage recorded by Texas law police.

To prevent congestion in detention facilities, Border Patrol agents paroled more than 207,000 migrants between August and May. This method was implemented under the Biden administration.

It’s not known if the migrants in the video had been released on parole.

The Homeland Security Department is authorized by law to parole migrants for critical humanitarian causes or for the benefit of the general public. The Border Patrol claims that due to a lack of detention space and overburdened resources, it turned to parole.

Every day, the Eagle Pass Border Patrol transfers about 1,000 migrants to the local Mission: Border Hope organization.

In terms of illegal crossings, the region is currently comparable to the Rio Grande Valley.

According to court data, 51,132 migrants were released on parole in May, a 28 percent rise over April.

Only seven migrants had been released on parole in the seven months prior to late August.
