A 21-year-old Houston resident claimed to have shot and killed a second guy on Tuesday at a petrol station who was attempting to carjack him.

Following a gunshot, police were called to the 8300 block of Park Place Boulevard in Houston, Texas, according to the Houston Police Department. A few streets from the shooting, officers discovered a 29-year-old guy unconscious in a wrecked car when they arrived.

He was brought to a hospital and later declared dead there.

According to the shooter, he was in his car when another man arrived and started a physical altercation, according to authorities.

At that point, the driver of the car fired multiple rounds, hitting the driver. The gunman then got out of his car and dialed 911.

According to authorities, the wounded guy boarded the shooter’s car and sped off before colliding with a nearby building.

A grand jury in Harris County will hear the matter.
