A lady in New York recently revealed that her sister was fined $40 for sobbing at a doctor’s checkup.
Camille Johnson, 25, a well-known YouTube and online celebrity, posted a snapshot of her younger sibling’s hospital bill on Instagram.
“My younger sister has been dealing with a health issue for a while and has now seen a doctor. She tweeted the photo with the message, “They charged her $40 for crying.”
The graphic showed a section of the statute that penalized her sister for a BRIEF EMOTIONAL/BEHAVIOR ASSMT.
She said on Twitter that her sister has a rare ailment and became emotional because she feels angry and powerless because she has allegedly struggled to get treatment.
The snapshot went viral, with over 54,000 retweets and 425,000 likes, as well as dozens of comments from shocked individuals.

Johnson also mentioned that the assessment was more expensive than a vision test, hemoglobin test, health risk assessment, and capillary blood sample in the thread.
A quick emotional/behavioral evaluation is a mental health screening that looks for indicators of ADHD, depression, anxiety, suicide risk, or drug misuse. It’s generally in the form of a questionnaire that’s given out and filled out before going to the doctor.
Johnson, on the other hand, told The Independent that her sister was never assessed. She stated that the doctor at the undisclosed medical facility saw her sister crying but did nothing about it.
The viral video generated a debate on the perplexing and exorbitant costs of medical treatment in the United States.
According to a recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll, half of American people indicated they put off or missed health or dental treatment in the previous year due to expense.
In the case of Johnson’s disaster, many users were stunned by the high, sometimes ambiguous, or opaque medical expenses they encountered in the United States.
