Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, D.N.Y., was dressed in a mask for a photo shoot with activists at the U.S. Capitol, but only for the picture, a viral video shows.
Ocasio-Cortez dropped her coronavirus mask after the snap Monday, when she posed with protesters in support of a new eviction moratorium. Ed Markey (D-Mass) was also present.
While the congresswoman was not wearing a mask while sitting on the steps, Markey put on her gray mask and snapped the picture.
“Housing is a human right,” the group said as the picture was taken, with someone after the photo saying “Everybody say ‘whiskey.’”
Markey took off his mask almost immediately after the photo had been taken, as he laughed at the “whiskey” joke.
Ocasio-Cortez soon followed suit, ditching her mask entirely a mere minute after the photo was taken, according to Breitbart, which posted the video to Twitter.

On the Capitol steps, you can see the New York progressive socializing with protesters.
The Biden administration on Tuesday announced a new eviction moratorium through Oct. 3.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) drafted a new eviction ban to protect tenants in areas with “substantial and strong levels of community transmission” COVID-19. This disease affects roughly 90% of the U.S. populace.
A News Team sent an email to both Ocasio-Cortez and Markey asking for comments on the video. They also wanted to know why the lawmakers felt the need for the mask to take the photo.
