Poor Minnie. All she wanted was to update her wardrobe and now she’s the subject of outrage on Twitter.
Why is it so upsetting that a Disney character will wear pantsuits during Disneyland Paris’ 30th Anniversary celebrations? There are many reasons, from the fact that the clothing choice is not appealing to you to the fact that the company is “trying to ruin fabrics in our society.”
Candace Owens was the most vocal opponent of Minnie’s blue suit. She spoke with Jesse Watters on “Jesse Watters Prime Time” and claimed that the suit was distracting.
“They are taking all of these things that nobody was offended by. It’s like they have to get rid of them and destroy them because they’re bored. You know, they’re absolutely bored,” Owens said. “They’re trying to destroy fabrics of our society, pretending that there’s issues so everybody looks over here. “Look at Minnie Mouse. Don’t look at inflation, Jesse. Look at Minnie Mouse.” The world is going forward because you’ve got her in a pantsuit. Never mind that you can’t get anything at the grocery store, and you can’t buy a piece of bacon unless you’ve got $30 in your pocket. At least we’re addressing the real problem, which is Minnie Mouse.”

Owens wasn’t the only one to link the mouse’s pantsuit with a left-wing conspiracy. These are tweets that we could include. Many of these tweets, pro and con, were not appropriate for publication.

Most, however, just didn’t like the outfit.

The wardrobe update is celebrate Women’s History Month and the 30th anniversary of Disneyland Paris, with the new look designed by Stella McCartney.
And, despite some online comments, Minnie isn’t ditching all of her dresses. In fact, Disneyland Paris released a video showing new outfits for Minnie, Mickey, Donald, Daisy and all the Disney characters.
