Joe Biden’s government is considering teaming up with private companies to track”extremist chatter by Americans online,” according to The Daily Wire.
The national government is restricted legally to what they could track without a warrant.
The Daily Wire stated,”The plan being discussed inside DHS, according to multiple sources, would, in effect, allow the department to circumvent” laws that restrict what the federal government can do in surveilling U.S. citizens without a warrant.”
“A source familiar with the campaign said it isn’t about decrypting data but instead using outside entities that can lawfully access these private classes to collect massive amounts of information which might help DHS identify key narratives as they emerge.”
“Gathering information on US citizens — no matter how abhorrent their faith — increases instant legal and constitutional challenges.”
“Civil liberties advocates and privacy hawks have long criticized some attempts to collect even publicly accessible information on Americans in bulk for a violation of Americans’ First and Fourth Amendment rights.”
Joe Biden wants to “partner” with the private sector to conduct surveillance because the Govt can’t do it without a warrant or ongoing investigation.
