Veterans Slams NYC Decision To Deny Permit For Memorial Day – City Held Cannabis Parade Just Last Week

Bill de Blasio is pulling the plug on Army service Veterans seeing a Memorial Day Parade Event even though he allowed pot smokers to conduct the roads only last week, based on Fox News.

Jamie Gonzalez a Desert Storm Veteran said, “It’s a slap in the face.”

“For many of us, a parade is a form of closure.”

“We gather together and support each other.”

“I’m incensed,” said Ted Cohen.

“People are just marching. That’s the new normal.”

“The Staten Island people had the decorum and respect to go the proper way [and] they are suffering for their civic-mindedness.

“No one else is even asking permission.”

Volker Heyde said,”Look, have some parade you need, I don’t have any issue with that.”

“But for the town to place dopeheads over vets is just dishonoring us.”

“Under the equal protection clause, it is unconstitutional for the city to pick and choose between classes in this way.”

“There is a definite double standard going on here.”

“We now have a permit from the Parks Department.”

“We had a police escort the entire way, they shut down traffic, all that stuff.”

“There is a reason that goes through NYPD — for safety for those in the parade and people on the sidelines.”

“Parks should have no part in this parade, since it never has for a century.”
