President Biden and first lady Jill Biden has gotten everyone’s attention when a new puppy was spotted roaming around on the South Lawn of the White House.
“Yes, there is [a puppy],” the first lady’s spokesperson, Michael LaRosa, stated to CNN in a piece published on Monday.

Biden’s family adopted the little guy, who is believed to be a German Shepherd or a similar breed.
According to sources, the pup’s name was “Commander” and he was reportedly given as a gift by the president and other members of the first family.
POTUS tweeted a sweet photo of the dog and confirmed that the new addition to his family was indeed a puppy.
“Welcome to the White House, Commander,” Biden’s post reads.
Two other German Shepherds were also owned by the Bidens. In June, a 13-year-old Champ passed away. Major, a rescue dog who was involved in several biting incidents involving Secret Service personnel and White House staff, was featured in the media several times in spring 2021.
Major returned to the Biden’s Wilmington, Delaware home after the aggressive incidents. He reportedly received more training. According to the report, the rescue pup has not been seen at the White House in a while.
