Biden Delivers Insensitive and Insulting Remarks at Twin Towers Memorial

When it was announced that Joe Biden would not give a speech on 9/11, many were shocked and dismayed that the President of the United States apparently felt it unnecessary to commemorate the 20th anniversary of one of America’s greatest tragedies. Former President George W. Bush spoke instead, with various former and current government officials gathered at Flight 93’s memorial.

It’s easy to see why he didn’t speak in person. The president has shown little ability to control his emotions lately, likely due to his sharp mental decline, and that’s led to several recent speeches in which he came across as angry and incoherent. This wouldn’t have made for a happy scene on 9/11.

Biden made some unscripted comments. The president answered questions from the media, perhaps without permission from his handlers. The president launched into an insensitive, insulting tirade. He used multiple instances of “c’mon” throughout.

Watch it Here:

Biden continues to defend his devastating, fatal withdrawal from Afghanistan, even though others are remembering the nearly 3,000 American deaths on 9/11. Biden claims that Al Qaeda has been “wiped out” of Afghanistan at one point. This is completely false. Then, he leans forward and asks, “Can Al Qaeda come back, well yeah, but guess what?” before sarcastically saying “it’s already back in other places, what’s the strategy, every place where Al Qaeda is, we are gonna invade and have troops there…c’mon.”

There is no better place to make the argument he makes than at a memorial for 9/11 victims who were killed by Al Qaeda. You don’t have to wait until tomorrow, even if Biden truly believes what he is saying. This was not the right time. Combine this with his defensive and angry tone, and you get a very disturbing result.

The president mentions that the public has approved his decision, before launching into an absurd analogy about Tajikistan. Although I don’t know what he meant, he claimed that if a C-130 had been landed there, people wouldn’t be able to get out of the wheel wells. Yet, that’s exactly what happened in Afghanistan, with several men falling to their deaths. Is he oblivious to the offensiveness of such an analogy?

Biden’s short interaction with the media was strange and unnatural. This is why Biden rarely answers questions. He usually has a script and a list to call upon when he does. You would have hoped that he would be able to understand what today means and how to temper his anger. This president seems to think that even that is too much.
