An incensed employee struck Rudy Giuliani on the back at a Staten Island, New York, ShopRite on Sunday over the Supreme Court’s Friday abortion decision.
Giuliani had just emerged from the ShopRite men’s room to a crowd of fans. As they stood there talking among themselves, a worker approached from behind and struck the former mayor of New York City in the back.
“All of a sudden,” Giuliani said, “I feel this, ‘Bam!’ on my back. I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t. I feel this tremendous pain in my back, and I’m thinking, what the — I didn’t even know what it was. All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f***ing scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him.”
The accused suspect is now accused of assault. Two days prior, the 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion decision was reversed by the Supreme Court.
His son, Andrew Giuliani, a contender for governor of New York, claimed his father is in good health. But it’s a sad day when “America’s Mayor,” New Yorkers’ top crime fighter, gets assaulted. He holds the left side responsible for inciting violence.
The worker was on duty at the time, according to a witness, and the police apprehended him.
In a later interview with The Washington Post, the former attorney for former President Donald Trump said, “I’m like, ‘I’m gonna get this guy arrested as an example that you can’t do this.’ And I said, also, in New York, we don’t prosecute people anymore. And one of the reasons I brought crime down is I didn’t ignore stuff like this.”
According to law enforcement officials, the suspect is a 39-year-old Staten Island resident who will be charged with second-degree assault on a person over 65. The suspect has not been arrested before.
