Biden’s Own Words Come Back To Haunt Him

After attempting to attribute blame for the continued economic problems affecting Americans to Republicans over the weekend, President Joe Biden was made aware of his own statements.

The president asserted on Sunday that Republicans are just standing in the way of the Biden administration’s persistent attempts to assist Americans and their wallets.

“Republicans are doing nothing but obstructing our efforts to crack down on gas-price gouging, lower food prices, lower healthcare costs, and hopefully, soon, lower your prescription drug costs,” Biden stated.

“This is not right,” he continued. “And that’s why this election is going to be so darn important.”

As the midterm elections in 2022 draw nearer, Biden’s rhetoric has increased.

Democrats are attempting to deflect blame for economic problems, such as sky-high inflation and record-high gas costs, in order to avoid suffering big losses because every survey indicates that these are the issues that American people find most pressing. Democrats thus think that shifting the blame would trick some people into truly believing that Republicans, who do not control Congress or the White House, are to blame for the economy’s troubles.

Avoiding responsibility did not go down well. In actuality, Biden’s comments were exposed by the social media backlash and contradict his attempt to pin the blame for issues on the Republican Party.

In June 2020, Biden stated: “It’s hard to believe this has to be said, but unlike [Donald Trump] I’ll do my job and take responsibility. I won’t blame others. And I’ll never forget that the job isn’t about me — it’s about you.”

In April 2020, Biden remarked: “The President needs to stop blaming others and do his job.”

In August 2020, Biden said: “Here’s my promise to you: If I’m elected president, I will always choose to unite rather than divide. I’ll take responsibility instead of blaming others. I’ll never forget that the job isn’t about me — it’s about you.”

As Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ spokesperson Christina Pushaw noted, the Biden administration for months attributed the rise in gas prices and other economic problems to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Many others refuted Biden’s blame-shifting by pointing out that since Democrats presently hold the White House and Congress, they have the most power to shape the course of the government.
