According to the dog’s owner, a crazy homeless man assaulted the dog when it was out on a stroll in Prospect Park, leaving it with such severe injuries that it subsequently passed away.
Before beating them with a stick so forcefully that the dog suffered a fatal intestinal damage, the attacker made furious remarks about immigrants and splashed a bottle of urine on the 2-and-a-half-year-old golden retriever mix, Moose, and its owner, Jessica.
Around 6:30 a.m., Moose and a 41-year-old beekeeper who would not disclose her last name, Jessica, were in the park. When they discovered the assailant, who is still at large this week, it was last Wednesday.
Jessica claimed to have seen the man before because he frequently strolls around muttering to himself while holding a stick.
She normally tries to stay away from him, so when she noticed him close going through some trash, she dragged her dog as far to the side as she could.
Jessica claimed the man grabbed a container of a liquid from his rubbish bag, which she subsequently discovered was urine, and began spraying her and her dog.
She said the man was swinging his stick around and muttered under his breath about foreigners taking over the park.
She attempted to flee by jogging up some stairs with the dog, but the man caught up to them, leaped, and beat them from behind.
She suffered minor injuries as a result of the man hitting her in the back and her dog in the face with a stick, according to the police.
The incident was witnessed by a nearby woman walking her dog who yelled at the man to “Get the f—k away from her,” which caused two other bikers to also stop.
Immediately after the event, she took her dog to a Prospect Park veterinarian, where they extracted Moose’s broken tooth.
Jessica thought everything was OK when she brought the puppy home, but then he started acting strangely.
The dog’s body pivoted while they attempted to flee, so the man struck the dog in the side as well as the face.
Moose succumbed to the operation.
