The UK climate organization, whose members allegedly punctured the tires of 40 cars in New York City last month, has organized parallel activities in towns around the country.
The Tyre Extinguishers, an organization that urges activists to deflate the tires of parked sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in order to cut greenhouse gas emissions, said that it has already expanded to the Chicago and San Francisco areas this month.
This month, the organization claims its members punctured the tires of 20 SUVs in Chicago, another 20 in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and 12 SUVs close to San Francisco.

According to the group’s spokeswoman, they anticipate rapidly growing across the US in the upcoming weeks.
The organization claimed that it wants to outlaw SUVs because they are detrimental to human health, public safety, and the environment.
The organization offers instructions on how to swiftly deflate tires on the website, along with a brochure that can be printed and posted on the windshields of targeted cars. The letter requests that the victim refrain from taking the deflation of their tires personally.
Electric vehicles (EVs) are not excluded by The Tyre Extinguishers from their efforts, as these vehicles also have a significant carbon impact.
The spokesperson for the group shared an email from a San Francisco-based EV owner who claimed their vehicle had been targeted and demanded compensation.
“Are you people verifying whether the cars you’re slashing are electric vehicles or not? Or are you just targeting ALL SUVs? Freaking geniuses. How do I get compensated for this?”
