A 42-year-old man was stabbed to death in the Bronx on Saturday evening after a fender bender, according to authorities.
Police believe a male victim and an unnamed suspect were involved in a fender bender prior to the attack, according to reports.
The driver of the vehicle was not the victim. An unidentified 36-year-old woman was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident, according to investigators. The nameless woman was the victim’s girlfriend, according to reports from Monday.
Just before midnight, a vehicle struck the man and his girlfriend on the Bruckner Expressway near Unionport.
Both vehicles stopped near Castle Hill Ave., ostensibly to exchange information, but the dialogue quickly devolved into violence, according to the report. According to investigators, a man inside the other vehicle, who was either the driver or a passenger, seized a sharp item and stabbed the victim in the right leg.
After that, the guy is said to have gotten back into his car and fled the scene.
The unidentified man was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, but died as a result of his injuries.
One local resident described the gruesome spectacle as horrifying.
Authorities are investigating the event, but investigators have yet to come up with an adequate description of the perpetrator or their car, according to sources.
