In the global food markets, things may be deteriorating. How awful is it? It’s bad enough that oya Foods CEO Bob Unanue, a straight shooter who demonstrated a willingness to tell it like it is throughout the Trump administration, was fired.
Rather than making the standard, oft-heard comment about how bad the current 8 percent Bidenflation is, Unanue focused on a far larger issue: the impending food crisis.
Unanue condemned the Russians for their ruthless technique of warfare, which resulted in a food shortage, and sounded the alarm bells with force.

We are on the verge of a worldwide food disaster. God created mankind, and humanity has invented every means of self-destruction, including nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons. However, we have now weaponized food. They produce half of the world’s fertilizer, 30% of wheat, 20% of corn, and 20% of other crops and minerals. Russia is likewise sealing itself off from the sea. If Odessa is cut off, they are effectively landlocked, unable to export or even plant.
Food costs have also risen 8.8% year over year and 1% month over month, with the highest rises in cereal and pastry items (10%), poultry, fish and meat (13.8%), fresh fruits and vegetables (8.1%), and eggs (11.2 %).
Around 29% of worldwide wheat exports, 19% of global corn supply, and 80% of global sunflower oil exports come from this country.
The major question is where the globe goes from here. Perhaps calamity can be avoided if the conflict settles down and the West and Russia negotiate a detente that allows for the transfer of vital petroleum, food, and fertilizer supplies from Russia.
