Former NFL Star Arrested For DUI After Being Hired By Old Team

Marshawn Lynch, a former star for the Seattle Seahawks, was detained in Las Vegas on suspicion of drunk driving on Tuesday, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Police pulled over a car close to Las Vegas Boulevard because they thought the driver could be intoxicated.

Officers conducted an arrest after determining that Lynch was intoxicated during the course of the inquiry. According to a tweet from LVMPD, Lynch was taken to the Las Vegas City Jail and arrested for drunk driving.

Lynch was taken into custody at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday, the Las Vegas police said.

According to prison records, Lynch’s bond was set at $3,381. He received citations for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of narcotics, failing to stop when requested, failure to drive in a travel lane, and operating an unregistered car.

Ten years prior, in January 2012, Lynch was detained on suspicion of DUI close to his hometown of Oakland, California. Lynch eventually entered a guilty plea to careless driving and was given a $1,080 fine, six driver safety lessons, and two years of probation in California.

With the Seahawks in 2012, Lynch, 36, was a first-team All-Pro and a four-time Pro Bowler. In January 2020, he participated in his last NFL game with the Seahawks.

One day after the Seahawks revealed Lynch will join the organization as a special reporter and generate original content for many initiatives, Lynch was arrested.

Lynch has been engaged in a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors since leaving the NFL. In addition to being a part owner of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken, he has his own apparel company called Beast Mode.
