Following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, liberal politicians attacked police officers all around the nation for supporting discriminatory policing techniques.
One such city where a Democratic mayor sought police defunding before finding that crimes drastically increased as a result of her anti-police measures was San Francisco.
Much of liberal thinking is ridiculous, but defunding the police (especially when rioting and violent crime is rampant in the streets) takes the cake.

San Francisco defunded the police before reversing course the next year amid calls for 'accountability' https://t.co/GJvRo572Wl
The San Francisco mayor, who formerly supported the idea of defunding the police, is now advocating for increased funding for the officers. She is currently powerless to stop an uptick in violent crimes in her city.
Mayor London Breed of San Francisco stated the city would redirect $120 million in police budget to the so-called developmental policies of black Americans when she announced her plans to defund the police in 2020.
Breed claimed that San Francisco had failed African Americans. They have continually experienced injustice, thus $120 million in police funds will be used to improve the lot of this underprivileged neighborhood.

Breed realized her error in December of last year as the law and order situation in San Francisco began to spiral out of control. She requested that the police department’s budget be increased by the city board of supervisors.
Before, Breed said that city police officers deserve another chance and that San Francisco needed to hold offenders accountable.
The president of the San Francisco police union claimed the mayor realized her error in defunding the police following Breed’s continued pleas for funding.
The Board of Supervisors in San Francisco recently authorized a $14 million budget for the city’s police force. This will fill over 200 open positions in the agency as well as boost the financial incentives for police officers.
In the midst of the violent protests, police personnel were also concerned about the growing hostility toward them, which made their work very challenging.
People are reluctant to join the police department, according to one officer, 29-year veteran Betsy Brantner.
Defunding the police added fuel to the flames by harming already vulnerable police officers across the nation because the majority of police departments are small businesses.
