NYC Protesters Fight Vax Mandate As Mayor Doubles Down On The Rule

On Friday, workers in New York City demonstrated against the municipal worker vaccine mandate, which had a deadline of Friday for city workers to get vaccinated or risk losing their jobs.

Protesters gathered in New York City on Friday amid allegations that 1% of the city’s 370,000-strong workforce is unvaccinated, putting them at risk of losing their jobs if they don’t comply with the city’s mandate, which requires two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Unvaccinated teachers, firefighters, and police officers are among those at risk of losing their employment.

Mayor Eric Adams of New York City did not back down on the mandate, saying during a press conference that living in a complex city necessitates citizens adhering to laws.

Several unions representing various segments of the city’s workforce tried to stop the firings, but on Thursday, a judge ruled in favor of the city.
