Sister Of Fallen Marine Sues Alec Baldwin For Defamation

Alec Baldwin, the actor, is still under investigation for a fatal shooting on the set of his film Rust last year.

Throughout his career, he has faced allegations and unfavorable news coverage, including a defamation suit recently filed against him by the family of a slain Marine.

Marine Cpl. Rylee J. McCollum was one of the 13 service personnel killed in a suicide attack in Kabul, Afghanistan, in August. Baldwin is said to have given $5,000 to his sister, Roice, in order to help her newborn baby.

Roice McCollum was photographed at then-President Donald Trump’s rally on Capitol Hill last January, and the actor couldn’t help but comment on the photo.

“When I sent the $ for your late brother, out of real respect for his service to this country, I didn’t know you were a January 6th rioter,”  Baldwin wrote after a heated exchange.

Roice McCollum responded by calling her protest absolutely legal, claiming that she had contacted the FBI about her attendance at the demonstration and had been cleared of any crime.

Roice McCollum said she and her family have been harassed and threatened since the social media interaction.

One especially obscene remark concluded with the statement that her brother had gotten what he deserved.

The defamation lawsuit goes on to state that she was not one of those who broke into the Capitol building following the rally.
