Ukraine Agrees To Peace Talks With Russia

According to several reports, Ukraine has decided to hold peace negotiations with Russia without preconditions. On the fourth day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy purportedly announced the start of peace talks.

The peace negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow will take place near the Pripyat River on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. The gathering was not given a specific time.

The news came just hours after Russia announced that its delegation had arrived in Belarus for negotiations.

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko is engaging in the peace talks, according to a statement from Zelenskyy’s office.

The statement continued to state that Alexander Lukashenko has assumed responsibility for ensuring that all planes, helicopters, and missiles stationed on Belarusian soil remain on the ground during the Ukrainian delegation’s travel, negotiations, and return.

The fact that there are no preconditions for the meeting is already a triumph for Ukraine, according to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

Zelenskyy had previously declined to attend peace negotiations in Belarus. Belarus, according to the Ukrainian president, is not a neutral area because Russia has a major contingent of troops there and it was one of the launch sites for the Russian invasion.

Many people were astonished when Ukraine held back a large portion of Vladimir Putin’s armed forces at the start of the war.
